Santa Cruz

The weather is starting to warm up and in California that means it is time to hit the beach! Last week Hubby and I went to Santa Cruz and played at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

The day we went was a nice 78 degrees out. The sun was just right. The wind was just right. But most of all the crowds were just right.

We were able to spend time walking the boardwalk and checking out all the sights.

We visited the shops and walked through the carnival game area. We grabbed a quick snack and some drinks.

We even rode a few rides like the Giant Dipper.

Then we left our shoes and socks in a locker while we walked in along the crashing waves.

We sat watching the waves come in and the boats in the distance.

We watched children making sand castles. Some wrote words in the sand with sticks. Others collected sea shells.

The beach brings back a lot of childhood memories for me. My dad was in the Navy for 22 years. We spent time along the coasts of California, Washington, and Hawaii during those years.

I find the beach incredibly relaxing. I generally listen to a waves cd at night to fall asleep.

Do you have a beach trip planned yet? What is your favorite beach?
