THE ICE CREAM COMPANY
Imagine my surprise when I saw the decor! He knew I was going to love it here!!!!
Having never been here before, I wasn’t sure if I should do the clown face or the candy land sundae. After talking with Katie, I decided on the clown face.
It is 2 scoops of ice cream. I choose peanut butter cup. There is an upside down sugar cone placed on top to make the hat. Then they add whipped cream. They eyes are jawbreakers. The nose is a cherry. The smile, btw mine didn’t smile like some do, is made from red licorice.
Bart had a 3 scoop sundae. He choose chocolate chip, chocolate chocolate chip, and chocolate chip. The sundaes come topped generously with whipped cream, choice of syrup, and a cherry on top. Normally, they add almonds. Bart is deathly allergic to nuts, so no nuts for him.
They offer 1, 2, 3, and 6 scoops. With the 6 scoop they stack them in a triangle shape and then top them.
I had to do a little research about the Ice Cream Company. I learned it originally opened in 1979. In 2011 Bonnie and Corey Acree purchased it.
They opted to continue making the ice cream at the restaurant. They also make their waffle cones. MMMMM you know how good that smells?
Besides ice cream, they have soup and sandwiches.
BUT, what they are best known for is the La Palooza. I asked Katie about it. She said it is about 12 pounds of ice cream and you pick your flavors and toppings. It serves about 15 people and costs $65.00
DUDE, that sounds like an awesome party!
We didn’t order one. These pictures are ones I found on their facebook and website:
You would think there was nothing else awesome to tell you about them. You would be wrong.
Every month or two, they offer a sundae special that benefits a charity. This month is Bethany House. Bethany House provides services to women who have unplanned pregnancies. They provide safe living places, access to medical care, child birth preparation, and counseling regarding all the clients options.
The Ice Cream Company offers fundraising events, party space, and gift cards.
