Saturday was National Trails Day! The National Parks were free!!! Did you make it to one? (some of the photos will need to be fixed when I get home =( )
I had never been here before. I had no idea what I was going to see or what it was going to take to see it.
Becoming 7 is all about having fun! Below you will not only see my car going through Tunnel Log, but a couple who climbed on top of the log for a photo opp.
I have always stopped at all the roadside attractions I come across, so when Roadside America mentioned it, you know I had to do it!
The park is stunning in so many different ways.
To get to Tunnel Log and to leave Tunnel Log, you pass a sign that says Moro rock. It made me wonder, is it like Glacier Point at Yosemite National Park? A lookout that is stunning but few go to?
When we pulled into the parking for Moro Rock, there was a huge rock with a staircase that wrapped around it. On the sign was a photo of the view from the top. Holy Cow! I don’t care how tired I am or sore I am! I HAVE TO DO THIS!
It is no secret that I am a large lady. It is no secret that after doing General Sherman, I wanted to die. But that picture, I had to see it with my own eyes.
So we started climbing. It was tough! People saw me and the struggle I was having. It is a combination of stairs, flat areas, and inclines. Every time I wanted to quit or felt I could not go on, someone encouraged me. People offered water.
In the end, I made it. I conquered it! It was mesmerizing. It was majestic. If I ever yell at you to stop the car and say I HAVE TO DO THIS, just shove me over the edge cause I am going to do it even if it kills me.
I am going to say the guys at hikespeak.com have an incredible post about Moro Rock. Just click the green link to see it and their photos.
So tell me 7’s, which National Park did you hit Saturday?
