iWatch for Father’s Day
Well I am not a writer. Thank God for spell checker. But I will make an attempt for my wife’s blog. So here goes………
Here it is Father’s Day. This year was kinda a different year. I usually don’t need to have the latest and greatest gadget or keep up with other people. But I have always wanted a Movado watch. I have loved their simplistic design that makes them elegant and stunning to me.
I am also a huge Apple fan. I never understood the Apple Watch.
The one item I think Apple has not educated or promoted well.
I was looking at the Movado watch and the different models.
I have been using a Fit Bit for about a year now and like the way it tracks my sleep patterns and well as heartrate. The Fit Bit is purple and I love that color but it just doesn’t have that style one needs to look professional or classy on a night out.
I noticed that Movado did make a smart watch but didn’t function at all like a Fit Bit, love that caller id on the Fit Bit.
I was still thinking about that Movado and then saw a picture of the Apple Watch with nearly that same type of design. At half the price I thought I would try to educate myself real quick. 38 or 42mm what’s that?? Sport, Watch, Hermes, Edition, nothing but confusion ?!?!?! Do I have to buy an Edition to get the face of the watch to look like what I want or is it customizable?
Well an 18 year old kid in a Target store explained some of it and I played with the display watch for about an hour. I also watched some videos on how to work it. Boom……. Sold!
Sorry Movado, but maybe again some years down the road. I was able to customize my watch face to basically look like a Movado, just without the diamond on top. Simple but elegant face without the clutter.
I have found it to be a most valuable companion to my iPhone 6. I have used the Apple Pay more on my Apple Watch than on my iPhone.
While in Las Vegas, I would use Siri to navigate and was shocked when my wrist vibrated and chimed with an arrow pointing to the left or right on my watch. Didn’t even have to look down to the phone screen to see where to go.
I have been able to iMessage, check Accu Weather, check my Calendar, while leaving my iPhone attached to my side. I even decline phone calls while driving. Talk about convenient.
I was disappointed though that with the fitness monitor built into the watch, the Health and Fitness apps are nothing like Fit Bits app. I have not been able to track my sleep, steps, and heart rate like with the Fit Bit. I noticed that Fit Bit will not use the watch as compatible with their app.
I have used the Apple Watch during the day and charge it while using the Fit Bit to track sleep and exercising. Kinda funny considering how powerful the Apple Watch is.
I watched the Keynote from Apple and am looking forward to the watchOS 3 to come out so the apps launch 7 times faster. I can’t wait to spend some time in the App Store to look at all the available games, news, utility ect. Apps. I have even been able to launch Pandora and Skip songs right from my wrist. Can’t wait to see all the cool stuff the developers are going to come up with.
