Paul Bunyan is a folk tale that has been used to explain many of the features of the Untied States Terrain.
The famous lumberjack and his Blue Ox Babe were said to have created the Great Lakes and the Grand Canyon among other things.
The two would straighten roads, clear forests, and explore the country.
A lot of the fun is the tall tales. The stories are usually introduced at a time when children are learning the difference between truth and fiction. The exagerations are so extreme that children know there is no way for it to be true.
Just like Ameilia Bedlilia children love Paul Bunyan because of the extremes of the stories.
As an adult, I don’t recall a lot of the stories. I simply remember the exagerations and the amount of food he ate. So many restaurants have lumberjack meals in his honor. Lumberjack meals almost always include his trademark hotcakes.
