I recently received the June 2016 LootCrate! You many call me a sucker for grab bags and mystery boxes if you like. As long as I can remember, I would choose the surprise bag over knowing what I was getting. Maybe it is the 7 year old in me. I would be in huge trouble if I could afford every crate there is.
The June 2016 crate theme was Dystopia.
When I first opened my box, this is kind of what it looked like. I didn’t remember to take photos until afterwards. I promise you the t-shirt was much neater in the box.
First, I took everything out of the box and laid it out to look at it. The box also has a magazine explaining the different items. They explain the theme of the box. The magazine also provides space for Lootcrate to advertise the other crates.
Each crate comes with a t-shirt. The June crate had a Robocop shirt. You do get to predesignate what size shirt you want in your crates. The shirt has a lootcrate label inside. I am not sure where they get the shirts. They are made in China. That does not necessarily mena they were printed there. The tag states 60% cotton and 40% polyester. The magazine recommends cold wash and hang dry to avoid shrinkage. (the tag info is different)
I received my crate 2 days before I made my concert in the park post. While I was at the concert, I saw a man wearing this exact shirt. I secretly giggled and thought, I know where he got that!
Next was the Bethesda, Power Armor, Fall Out Dorbz by Funko. Funko is the company that makes the Funko Pop’s that are so popular.
I took the Dorbz out of the box to show it in more detail. It is pretty cute. It says made in Vietnam on the bottom. Some people care, I don’t really. The war was when I was born and has been long over. I don’t know much about the war nor do I know much about the country. To me it is no biggie.
The puzzle featuring the Matrix is quite a piece of work. In 5 hours, I have completed just over half of it. I did see comments on Reddit that some people did not get all the pieces. I will give LootCrate props because they promptly replied to people offering replacements.
The puzzle is made by Cardinal games and contains 300 pieces. It is almost entirely black and gray. The box says 17+ on it. I am not sure why. I don’t see anything that would be offensive on it. The box indicates it is made in China.
I will be doing a follow up post after I finish the puzzle.
Next up is a Terminator 2 metal print. From what I gather it is a decoration, but I don’t see a way to display it.
June’s pin is a bomb inspired by Fallout 4. The pin is made in China. In the magazine there is information on exclusive mobile game, ringtone, and wallpapers for your phone.
The Bioshock Key Blank can be useful. The most important factors would be : Do I have a key I need a copy of that will fit on this size key blank and Will anywhere cut the key for me on my own blank. You can always not get it cut and use it as a pendant if you like. The key blank is made in China.
Finally, the mailing box transformed into a play space for the Dorbz from Funko.
Depending on the plan you purchase a lootcrate will set you back $12-$14 and and $6 Shipping and Handling for a grand total of $18-$20 a month.
The July theme is FUTURISTIC. The fandoms being featured are to include: Rick and Morty, Megaman, Futurama, Vallant, and Star Trek.
Overall, I would say it is a great value. I enjoyed the items I received.
