Rainforest Cafe
On Labor Day, Bart took me to the jungle in San Francisco. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe on Fisherman’s Wharf.
When we first arrived, we were told it was a 45 minute wait. I knew a solution for that.
I was looking on their website before we got there and read about their reward program. (Landry’s Select Club) They charge you to join which is why I hadn’t joined before we got there. (in case we went elsewhere) The $25.00 one time fee is immediately issued as a $25.00 reward certificate on your card. Basically you are just prepaying part of your meal.
The perk we wanted was moving to the front of the waiting list. See what I just did there? 45 minutes saved by prepaying part of my meal. Plus we got a coupon for the shop and we earned points towards future visits. You can use the Landry Select Club at any of their 500 properties in 35 states!
They refereed to us as VIP’s for being club members and treated us as such.
The kids menu comes with an activity book and crayons. They have a used crayon donation drop off station. The crayons are recycled into new ones and given to Children’s Hospitals. Making sick kids smile!
Bart opted for Tuki’s Turkey Club. He asked for no avacado and no tomatoes. He said it was incredible after he had took the tomatoes off. He was also impressed with the Safari Fries. He choose a Coke with Grenadine no ice to drink.
I chose the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. I requested no lettuce, tomato, or pickle. Somehow it lost the barbecue sauce along the way. It was however the juiciest most delicious burger ever. I didn’t even add ketchup. I too enjoyed the Safari Fries. I chose a Strawberry Lemonade to drink and it was incredible. It even had a strawberry in it.
While we were eating there were balloon artists going around. I watched as they made hats, frogs, lions, butterflies, etc. I decided on a butterfly. I used my balloon to bless a little girl near by who then blessed another child with her prior balloon. It was community balloon night!
We went in with every intention of having the Volcano Lava Cake for dessert but we were stuffed. I did find this clip of the cake on youtube.
Downstairs is a Rain Forest themed Store. So many animals and trees to look at. If you like you can purchase stuffed animals, shirts, mugs, magnets, etc. Below are a few pictures of the store.
