Movies in the park
Yesterday at on my lunch break I noticed a voicemail from my granddaughter and her mom. When I called them back, they invited me to go to the movie at Graceda park that night. We are really blessed to live in a city with so many community events. Modesto is a great place to introduce children to arts and culture.
The movies in the park have been on my to do list, but I have just been too busy to go. We started our adventures by stocking up on snacks at the pharmacy I work at. We got Butterfinger Bites, Reeses Pieces, Red Vines, Rootbeer Barrels, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Dr Pepper, a Hello Kitty Grape Juice, Bottled Water, Junior Mints, and a Cotton Candy Lollipop.
Last nights movie was Norm of the North!
The city parks and recreation department puts on the weekly Friday night movies in the park every fall. They even provide fresh popped popcorn for FREE!
As you can see, some people sat in the stadium and some people sat on blankets in the grass.
I loved seeing how much my granddaughter is growing up. She was watching the movie with great concentration.
Notice in the corner of our blanket we had a bag to hold our trash. Let’s all keep our parks clean! They did provide recycling bins as well.
All three of us had a lot of fun watching the movie. We even danced during some of Norm’s songs.
As we were leaving, my granddaughter asked me to come to see Zootopia next week with her.
