The Accountant is not a movie for 7 year old children, but I wanted to talk about it. While the movie is violent and rated R, I did not feel it was any more gruesome then some of our current Prime Time television programs.
We watched it at the Galaxy Theater in Rivebank. We choose to watch it in the DFX theater for the better sound quality.
AS the movie progresses, we learn the Christian uses various aliases. Each of the Aliases is the name of an Autistic person in history. Various writers, musicians and Mathmaticians. The point being many very talented people who have left us with great treasures have been people with Autism spectrum disorders.
As the movie unfolds, we learn about residential treatment facilities, treatment options, coping strategies, and assistive technology such as googles ichat. By the end of the movie we see that there are different levels of functioning. There are adults in residential treatment settings and adults living like you and me.
On that note, I would say the Accountant does a lot to bring attention to Autism and to get people talking.
I saw it more along the lines of The Equalizer.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie. If you are curious about Autism, like action movies, or are a Ben Affleck fan I would recommend it!
