The Habit Burger Grill
My husband and I tend to work evenings to late night. Sometimes when we get off work, we want to grab something quick to eat. That can be challenging when one of you gets off at 10 PM or later.
We heard about The Habit Burger Grill when it opened in Modesto. We just never made it in. We took one wrong turn tonight and we noticed the lights were still on. Looking closer we saw there were people inside eating. So we decided to go in and give The Habit Burger Grill a try.
While we were waiting for our food, Kelly came over to chat with us. Kelly was amazing. She remembered us from when she had worked for the Elephant Bar which closed in 2014.
She next placed us and our kids at Tony Roma’s where she worked before the Elephant Bar.
One might question if she really remembered us as former customers, but then she went into overdrive. She said doesn’t your last name start with a J? and then she said like Jacobsen? Whoa! Talk about pulling a rabbit out of her hat.
Bart had the BBQ Bacon Char, Fries, and a Coke. He was really happy that they use KC Masterpiece as it is his favorite!
I had a Teriyaki Char, Onion Rings, and Barq’s Root Beer.
The food was good. The fries were really really good. The ranch was just right.
What made the experience even more welcoming was knowing they closed at 11 PM (from the sign on the window) but no one rushed us or any one else out the door.
Tonight really was reminiscent of the show Cheers. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came.
