Super Bowl 51

Super Bowl 51

Americans have a love for sports. The Super Bowl is football’s big game.  We have rooted for our teams all year long. We have prayed the teams we want would make it and the teams we don’t want won’t.

I used to love having a Super Bowl party. I would make poster board signs, fun snacks, and even write my own cheers.

As I have aged, I have found I simply love the commercials. Who can forget the Budweiser Frogs?

For my sister and I, our loyalties run deep. I became a Steelers fan back in the day of Mean Joe Green and Terry Bradshaw. In hindsight it was probably that Mean Joe Green Coke commercial that won me over.

My sister has been San Diego loyal as long as I can remember. Our dad was stationed in San Diego when we were little.  (I think I was 7 or 8 when we headed to Hawaii. ) My sister is Chargers and Padres to the core.

As we look forward to seeing the Patriots meet the Falcons, I will be anticipating the commercials. My husband will be anticipating the half-time show. Everyone will be wondering what is cooking in the kitchen.

And hopefully, everyone will be rooting for their team.

How did you pick your favorite team? What do you like to do for the Superbowl? Last year, although we didn’t have tickets, Bart and I went to San Francisco to be in the festivities.

Who are you hoping wins this year? I still haven’t forgiven the Patriots for Deflate Gate.
