When I think back to the joys of childhood, one of the best times of the year was Halloween! Today, we are going to talk about Fall Fun and have a $25 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway at the end!
For myself, some of my coolest memories involve: laying in bed watching the fist snow while living in South Dakota, Being a troll and jumping out from under a bridge as a part of a haunted forest, dressing up, those horrid Halloween costumes in the cardboard box, and so much more.
My six year old granddaughter had been researching corn mazes on youtube. She decided to ask me to take her to one. Little did I know she had decided it had to be big, have a map, and have check in spots or it would not be right. I think she might have a little of my black or white perspective of things.
Being the comedian she is, she makes a lot of goofy faces for photos. I just love her silliness. She and her mom bought annual passes to Dutch Hollow Farms in Modesto.
Dutch Hallow Farms has a lot of fun activities for the kids! There are games to be played like connect 4 and corn holes, a zip line, a petting zoo, horse rides, hay rides, a pumpkin patch, and of course a corn maze with treasure hunt checkpoints !
Nevaeh decided to invite grandma to go at night time. She handed Grandma the map. Did she forget grandma can get lost a block from home? that grandma has no sense of direction? that grandma is so distractable that following the map would soon be forgotten?
This is a photo of her and her mom when she realized grandma had no idea where we were in the darkness. Thank goodness for SIRI! I opened my iPhone and told Siri to get us back to the road. We cut threw some corn and found one of the two streets that go along the corn maze. We walked along the shoulder of the road and got back to the parking lot.
We would rate Dutch Hollow a 9 of 10. The cost of the annual pass is less then one day in the corn maze at some other local farms. There are just the right amount of activities to keep a child busy. There is parking right up close. Most importantly the cost of the activities and the number of activities is reasonable. One of the nearby farms, I figured would end up costing close to 100 bucks to do the maze and the activities they had. The negatives include: The hours are a little more limited. The corn maze isn’t lit at night. There isn’t a phone number on the map to call if you get lost and cant find your way out.
