Category Archives: About Becoming 7

Hi 7’s

this post is more for myself but you are free to read it if you like.

I started Becoming 7 as a way to rediscover joy more specifically the joys of childhood.

The past few years leading up to starting becoming 7 were difficult at best. There were times I didn’t know where I was sleeping, what I was going to eat, if I’d still have a husband in the morning, and what I was going to do for a living. It was bleak. It was hard. Becoming 7 was and is my way out so to speak.

I’ve always wanted to be a writer. In fact I wrote a book around 2001. I was able to get into talks with Harper Collins, but it never moved past the talking stage. I will admit I was trying to do it on my own, without guidance. It is kind of amazing I got that far. It still stings that I was never able to push it through to print. I haven’t really written anything substantial since. I am not sure if it is because of the fear of rejection or the memory of the sting.

Regardless, Becoming 7, has been fun! It has given me something to look forward to. I am always looking around me and wondering if I was 7, what would I do? what would I notice? It is interesting to see the world from a child’s eye.

The past two months I have been a lot more daring and adventurous. I am more likely to try anything (except food stuff) then I have ever been. I am willing to push myself to experience things that in the past I would not have even bothered.

For the most part my stress level has diminished and I am worrying a lot less. I am also spending less time stuck in my computer collecting useless data.

I am rediscovering myself in this process and starting to live.  I have also found that I am being more spontaneous and less rigid.

I have found that I am writing more reviews then I ever intended. I guess I am busy looking for something around me to write about. While that isn’t all bad, I would like to be more focused on the joys of childhood and the topics I originally developed.

I am going to try and be a little more focused and work on a schedule.

Keep up the good work and keep discovering the world around you.
