I remember my very first alarm clock. Do you? My first alarm clock was the Talking Bugs Bunny Alarm Clock. I can tell you nearly 40 years later exactly what it said to wake me up. You can see it and hear it for yourself in this youtube video I found.
I loved my clock, it was possibly the best and funniest time of the day for me.
The Bugs Bunny Talking Alarm Clock came in a cute box like you see below.
My sister on the other hand had the Raggedy Ann and Andy talking alarm. My mom and I were talking about if it were Raggedy Ann or Holly Hobbie. Looking at old photos and I am sure the Holly Hobbie clock came later as it was a more traditional clock with bells on top.
She’s not awake so I couldn’t ask her for her memories of her clock.
These memories were reawaken in me today as my Granddaughter and I explored Toys R Us. We went in to work on something for a future post. I made a deal with her that if she helped me, I would let her select one item. As time went on her choices changed. She would see something new and interesting. In the end, she choose her first alarm clock. It sings Let it Go from Frozen.
We talked about how much fun it will be to wake up for school to her new alarm. We also talked about the Bugs Bunny one I had at her age. We had lots of laughs and giggles over these alarm clocks.
Do you remember your first alarm clock?
