Yesterday at the post office, I had an unexpected package from Amazon. I had not ordered anything lately. Initially, I was not sure where it came from. All I knew when I opened the envelope was, THIS IS PERFECT for 7’s!
After a quick google search, I found I won it on Goodreads. Griddles was designed by Lorraine Holnback Brodek who is a former needlecraft designer, film studio executive, landscaping professional, aurthor, humorist, and artist.
Griddles is a unique way to do riddles, puzzles, coloring, etc. I am not the most artistic yet sometimes coloring books are not enough of a challenge. This is a step between. It gives you graph paper and tells you what to color.
If you can count to 21 and if you know your ABC’s you can do griddles.
Each book contains 22 designs. Lorraine says you can even use them to do needlework. There is a blank graph paper page for each design. At the back of the book you will find Griddle solutions, extra graph paper, and a guide to make an L-square ruler to assist with your project.
First you choose your Griddle. There is a clue to tell you what your drawing will be. Following the clue is your list of colors and locations to color. A few squares require circles or lines to fine tune your art.
I did cheat and look at the solutions. I picked one that looked pretty simplistic for my first attempt.
I ended up with a frog preparing to eat a fly.
