Calming Glitter Jars and Walmart Giveaway
September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The Gold Ribbon is for kids. I am giving away a $50 Walmart Gift Card to one of my readers at the end of September. The biggest catch is, I want you to learn about pediatric cancer. I am also going to explain how to make this cool glitter jar. I made a gold one in honor of the warriors.
700 kids are diagnosed with cancer EVERY DAY!
You will need
- canning jars with lids
- hot water
- Elmers glitter glue
- more glitter
- iridescent glitter
- glow sticks
- food coloring
Cancer is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 15 in the United States.
Fill the jars 1/4 the way with hot water.
250 children die every day from cancer across the globe.
Add 7 ounces of glitter glue and stir.
74% of childhood cancer survivors will have long lasting chronic conditions from treatment.
Add as much glitter as you want for extra sparkle.
In the United States, the National Cancer Institute at the National Institute for Health is responsible for funding cancer research. The NCI only allocates 4% of the entire $5,098,000,000 they received of tax payer money in 2016. Let that sink in 4% of 5 Billion dollars and our kids are dying every day.
Fill to top with water and stir. If necessary add food coloring one drop at a time until you reach your desired color.
We have to do better!
Cap and shake.
For the glowing jar use clear school glue, glitter, and the contents of 2 light sticks.
Open the glow stick package.
Break the light stick center and shake.
When the stick is glowing, cut the stick open. This was more difficult then expected. We tried using boning shears and couldn’t cut the glow stick open. I remembered the demonstrations with Cutco knives from my step-son, so I gave it a try. Cutco knives will cut open a glow stick.
Pour the contents of the light sticks into the jar.
Cap the jar and shake.
