Spark a Space Tail

Spark a Space Tail

Spark left me wondering what is going on in  the boardrooms of the movie studios.  I had not heard of the movie until Easter morning when my granddaughter called and invited me to go to the movies. She wanted to see Spark a Space Tail at Brenden Theaters.

For me to be caught off guard on something like this is unusual. I’ve talked in the past about the different things I do to keep on top of what is going on for children. So how did I miss a movie featuring Patrick Stewart, Jessica Biel, Susan Sarandon, Hillary Swank and Jace Norman (Disney and Nickelodeon)

After watching the trailer on youtube, I decided I wanted to see it too! So, how did I not know of this film? It turns out it was only released to 350 theaters in the United States. My granddaughter found the trailer while watching other videos on youtube.

I can tell you from personal experience that my 6 year old granddaughter (probably the target audience) loved it! I thought it was pretty good. A lot of the graphics reminded me of the days of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.

I am kind of at a loss when it comes to reading the other reviews on-line about Spark. It seems that nobody liked it. No one mentions what I think the story was about. The only reason I can logically come up with is they went in with adult mindsets and expected a Pixar type of movie.

My take on Spark is a little different then what I seen others write. To me Spark represented a lot of what is currently going on and has happened previously in world history.

An evil dictator takes over a country ( a planet in the movie) and destroys all that was beautiful and cherished about it. People are forced to submit to the dictator. What the majority is unaware of is the hidden minority. The ones who still believe in what their land can be. The ones who are willing to wait for the right time and then take action. The ones who will ultimately restore the land to the beautiful place it once was.
